The follow essential functions will apply:

• Provide technical leadership in designing, modifying, developing, and implementing large scale, complex mission-critical e-Commerce transactional applications requiring high availability across multiple environments
• Lead strong team of Java programmers in creating an innovative and efficient development environment using proven design techniques and utilization of productivity tools. Create and comply with internal and external standards definitions and best practices
• Establish industry best eCommerce offering by enhancing the Internet architecture to support business requirements including global expansion and domestic growth. Evaluate and recommend new technologies in support of all major business and IT initiatives
• Produce detailed functional specifications, requirements analysis, design specifications, proposals, statements of work and work estimates
• Provides technical consultation and guidance to other IT groups and junior developers to ensure completeness and compliance with established standards
• Participates in Vendor evaluations and provides recommendations
• Interviews, selects, develops, mentors and evaluates performance of staff.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 8 years IT experience with a minimum of 4 years Java and 2 years lead enterprise architect;
• Must have superior Java and J2EE expertise, must know J2EE Best Practices and be up to date on the very latest J2EE and related specifications
• Must have experience doing needs / requirements analysis and recommending cost effective and justifiable solutions
• Expertise with J2EE architectures, design patterns, and complete application development lifecycle; mastery of J2EE, EJB, JMS, JSP, and Java Servlets; strong proficiency in ANT, Application Servers (IBM Websphere), XML and Unix; working knowledge of UML modeling techniques, JDBC, SQL, RDBMS’s and Struts preferred
• Knowledge of latest J2EE Specifications. Must be up-to-date on all new J2EE standards and specs
• Should be able to install, configure, performance tune, optimize, cluster, and troubleshoot IBM Webspehere Suite of product
• Methodologies, Frameworks and Enterprise Packages: RUP-Rational Unified Process, XP- Extreme, etc. Togethersoft and Rational Application Developer, EAI (webMethods), Content Management Solutions and Harvest
• Performance Tuning Expertise with IBM Websphere Commerce Applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as both business and technical departments
• Ideal candidate will also be Sun Java Certified and IBM WebSphere Certified.
