Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Directs various medium-sized systems projects of a moderately complex nature and coordinates a team of IT professionals to ensure projects meet goals and milestones. Acts as a liaison for communication between the client and the work team. Does not have supervisory responsibilities such as hiring and performance/pay reviews.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports To: Program Manager
Primary Working Relationships: Database Consultant I, Data Consultant, Senior Database Analyst/Programmer, Senior Data Analyst, Database Analyst/Programmer, Data Analyst, Clients, Sales Executives.

Direct Reports: N/A

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for assembling a small, part-time project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed to accomplish task, and developing schedules to ensure timely project completion. *

2. Participates in strategic planning sessions with both client and management to determine the scope and objectives of each project. *

3. Responsible for identifying the role of each project team member. *

4. Responsible for effectively coordinating the activities of the team to meet project milestones.*

5. Responsible for monitoring progress, then updating clients and management on that progress and addressing any conflicts between client expectations and actual work output. *

6. Responsible for resolving day-to-day operational problems and conflicts and recommends improvements where needed. *

7. Responsible for developing, maintaining, or enhancing systems and programs according to client specification. *

8. Assists in providing input/justification for project costs and budget impact.

9. Completes other tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent education in a related discipline is required.
Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Job Related Experience:
Typically requires 5 yrs Project Management or Systems Implementation or related experience.

PMP Certification is a plus.

Management Experience:
Project management experience in coordinating small to medium projects is required.

12. Some travel to client site is required.
