Sr. J2EE Software Engineer - Pittsburgh, PA

Summary:

• This position requires an experienced individual well versed in enterprise Java development.
• This candidate will be primarily responsible for contributing to application design, development along with assistance in all aspects of the development process.
• The candidate should have experience in a formal software development environment with experience in all phases of the software lifecycle.

Must have:

• 7-10 years overall experience in software development, 3-5 years of Java and J2EE. With experience developing apps deployed in major vendor application servers (i.e. Weblogic, Websphere etc…)
• Experience on high availability, internationalized applications with a large user base.
• Development experience with O/R mapping frameworks and JDBC.
• This includes strong SQL skills and data base experience, specifically with Oracle technologies.
• Legacy application integration with J2EE, including messaging systems integrated with JMS.
• Struts, Spring MVC or other MVC web framework.
• XML parsing and transformation, including web services.
• Familiarity and/or usage of J2EE design patterns, GoF, AOP,, IoC and OO.
• Service oriented and N-tier architectures.
• Knowledge of high level IT enterprise systems and systems planning.
• UML

Beneficial, but not required:

• Spring framework in a J2EE environment
• Application integration with 3rd party security frameworks
• GIS Mapping (i.e. MapInfo)
• C/C++ experience
• Weblogic or other J2EE administrative experience • Capacity planning for large web-based applications
• N-tier performance tuning
• Apache HTTP server
• JSR 168 and other Portal technologies
• SVG • J2ME and mobile technologies • Scrum development process or other Agile methodology.
