Software Engineer - Pittsburgh, PA

The primary purpose for these positions is to: work with System Engineering and/or customers (internal or external) to understand and critique requirements, ensuring that they are complete and accurate in order to maximize software development efficiency; develop software source code that conforms to coding standards and satisfies customer and derived requirements and specified designs; understand and follow the processes pertinent to each phase of software development; identify opportunities to improve the processes; develop test cases that provide necessary and sufficient coverage to prove software quality; review test cases developed by others and offer suggestions to improve quality; execute tests and resolve issues identified during testing; contribute to the development of detailed plans and schedules for completing assigned work.

Execute according to the plan; identify the need to adjust the plan, if necessary, to adapt to changing situations and still meet customer requirements in a timely and cost effective fashion identify risks that may impact quality, schedule, and/or cost; and contribute to the development of risk mitigation plans and execute the plans.

These positions require the following: a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline; 3 - 5 years of success on software development projects; experience with C++ with Unix; and experience with UML is preferable (but not required.)
